GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

 

PRAYER changes things.  Who are you praying for?   If you have a prayer need, please complete a prayer card and drop it off in our white “Prayer Requests” box in the sanctuary.  We pray for these requests daily.

 

Midweek Prayer Meeting – Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m.

 

Communion is served in our worship services, usually on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month.

 

On the last Sunday of each month, special emphasis is given to our Food Pantry.   We need donations of food items to enable us to continue this ministry to people in need.   This is especially true since many families who are dependent on food stamps, have recently had their monthly benefits reduced.

Our greatest needs at this time are canned juices, cereals and breakfast items, but any and all donations are appreciated.  Items that cannot be purchased with food stamps, such as toiletries, personal care items, paper supplies and any non-food items, are also accepted and appreciated.  Place your donations on the specially marked cart in the foyer.  “Many Hands Make the Task Light.”

“…You have not because you ask not…” – James 4:2 Ask and it shall be given.  The pantry is open by appointment for emergency needs.

Copies of our local church directories are available.  They are updated twice a year, in April and October.  See the church sound engineer for a copy.  (Latest edition was updated April 27th, 2014.)

 

World Missions:   Our bulletin board in the foyer has information about what is happening in the mission field.  Also be sure to visit our sponsored link, Nazarene Missions International, (right-hand side of this page) to get more information.  Missionary books, in hardcopy and compact disc versions, are also available.   Sign up to read a book, or listen to a CD and find out what God is doing in the mission field as He works through His missionaries helping to “Make Christlike Disciples in the Nations”.  – Please return books and CD’s as soon as possible (don’t keep more than two weeks) so that they will be available to others in our congregation.

 

World Mission Broadcast – “Beyond Borders and Barriers”:   Those old-time radio receivers had a lot of circuitry, tubes, knobs, dials and controls.  So then, it takes many parts to broadcast a message.  –  Today it costs an average of $4.00 to broadcast one minute of the Gospel somewhere in the world.  How many minutes will you support?   Click the World Mission Broadcast link on the right to make an on-line donation.

 

JULY 2014 EVENTS:

 

Vacation Bible School – Monday, July 28th through Friday, August 1st, from 10:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  This is for children ages 4 – 12.  We’re “Going to Athens.”  Tip for parents:  Pre-register your children ages 4 – 12 early, to avoid the long lines that occur during the first few days of registration once V. B. S. starts.  Registration forms are in the foyer.  Complete a form and give to Pastor Becky.

 

 

SEPTEMBER EVENTS:

 

Women’s Retreat at Pinecrest Campground, Friday and Saturday, September 19th and 20th.  Camp speaker:  Shari Minke.  Registration information should be available in July.

 

Alabaster Offering to be collected during worship service, Sunday, September 28th.

 

Engage The Word – A 40-Day Journey through Scripture Reading Emphasis begins Monday, September 29th.
